Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Data Officer with a strong understanding of public health and clinical data and the ability to develop and manage CAPI systems. In addition, the ideal candidate should have a strong programming, data management, and data analysis background. They will play a crucial role in designing and implementing data collection systems that support our public health research works and initiatives.

 

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain CAPI systems and other data collection tools for public health and clinical research projects.

• Collaborate with the research team to define data requirements and ensure data collection processes adhere to industry best practices.

• Manage data quality, ensuring data integrity and consistency across all projects.

• Develop and implement data management and documentation procedures, including storage, archiving, and retrieval.

• Analyze data and produce reports, visualizations, and other outputs to support research findings.

• Provide technical support to the research team on data-related issues and troubleshoot problems as they arise.

• Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending and implementing data collection and management improvements.

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure data privacy and security protocols are followed.

 

Qualifications:

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Statistics, Public Health, or a related field.

• At least 3 years of experience in data management, including experience with CAPI systems.

• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.

• Experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, Stata, R or others).

• Strong understanding of public health and clinical data, including data collection methodologies, quality, and privacy regulations.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
